Jonathan Feng, MD

Board-Certified Ophthalmologist

As an experienced board-certified ophthalmologist and surgeon, Dr. Jonathan Feng is committed to delivering exceptional eye care to his patients. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Alabama, Birmingham, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology before earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. 

Dr. Feng's dedication to excellence is reflected in his receipt of the Department of Ophthalmology Excellence Award during his medical and surgical residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident during his final year. Following residency, Dr. Feng established himself in private practice in Eastern North Carolina before expanding his services to New Hampshire. 

Now, after starting Apex Eye Associates, Dr. Feng is enthusiastic about providing high-quality eye care to the residents of North Carolina. His clinical interests encompass comprehensive ophthalmology and cataract surgery, and he leverages the latest technology to deliver optimal outcomes to his patients. Dr. Feng's expertise in premium lens implants, including toric and extended-depth-of-focus intraocular lenses, enables him to reduce astigmatism and presbyopia to allow patients to become more independent from glasses.  

Outside of work, Dr. Feng’s interests involve photography, piano, hiking, and traveling.

Erin Petersen, MD

Board-Certified Ophthalmologist

Dr. Erin Petersen is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a native of Springs, earning her Bachelor of Biological Medical Science degree from Mississippi College, Clinton, MS, and graduating Summa Cum Laude. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. Dr. Petersen then completed her Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she served as chief resident during her final year.

After residency, Dr. Petersen went into private practice on the Mississippi coast. Now, she looks forward to serving central NC with her expertise and focus on compassionate care.

Dr. Petersen is a comprehensive ophthalmologist, seeing a wide spectrum of patients with a variety of eye conditions. Her subspecialty is cataract and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.

At Apex Eye, our team of medical receptionists and technicians is eager and excited to care for your vision. A capable staff is essential to providing effective and efficient patient care. They are also able to provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families, helping them navigate the often-difficult journey of receiving medical treatment.
